Captain Nick

Aloha and Ahoy, my name is Captain Nick Blecke. Born in Chicago, I moved to Maui when I was 18 to start working on sailboats. I’ve sailed all over the world and once was marooned on an island in the South Pacific and rescued by a sailing cargo ship! I’ve got a few pirate tales, love telling jokes, and promoting a fun and safe environment aboard Island Star. Look forward to whale watching, snorkeling, and sailing with you!

I’m a son of a son of a sailor. I learned how to walk on a sailboat before land. I was born in San Diego, California, but have been back and forth between Maui and California almost my whole life. I am an experienced free diver/surfer. Looking forward to meeting you.

Captain Timothy

Captain Timothy— Originally hailing from the North Fork of Long Island, I arrived in Hawaii the second time around in 2001 to work on learning about and protecting marine mammals and coral reefs in the Hawaiian Islands, working with nonprofit organizations. Eventually I discovered the joys of boat handling and sailing and have sailed the Hawaiian islands for 16 years with sailing adventures in Long Island and the Adriatic. I’ve also worked extensively as a marine mammal advocate, dolphin research trainer, and educator.

Captain Bryan Stewart

Captain Bryan Stewart and crew on more than a dozen charter boats on Maui since 1987. 25 years as a licensed captain. Operating sailboats, diving, snorkeling, and whale-watching trips. Divemaster, videographer, sailing instructor, fisherman, and sometimes tour guide. North Shore resident, enjoying sailing, windsurfing, off-roading, and stand-up paddling.

Craig Magaoay

Aloha! Born and raised on the island of Maui, I grew up on the north side of the island, near the shores of Waiehu. Moving back from Las Vegas, I was able to experience some of the finer things in life during my time there, last working for a 2 Michelin star chef's restaurant named WAKUDA, within the Palazzo as a server. I’m also an avid waterman with experience as a commercial longline fisherman and deckhand on several other charter boats. My hobbies include surfing, fishing, spearfishing, hunting, camping, hiking, backpacking, and snowboarding.
